TOURING FIXED

My time on the road is based on knowing that the levels of pain I am going to experience on any given day are going to be payed off by the joy of riding my bicycle over a beautiful California landscape.  Touring on a brakeless track bike offers a unique challenge. Many have realized this within the  city limits, but when we begin to push outside our boundaries and expand the uses on these machines we can begin to enjoy the beauty and simplicity of a track bike in the road on the road.

The best advice i can give is to plan and prepare. Know where you’re going and keep it moving forward. Push as hard as you can out the gate. I packed as light as possible. A “day pack” with a spare kit, change of clothes, tools and food for a few days. Not camping allowed me to ride with an even lighter load than others out touring this summer. get out there and learn something about your landscape, learn something about yourself.
