RAD MASSAKER 2010

Today racers from around the bay met up at Mosswood Park in Oakland, for an annual bay area tradition. The Rad Massaker is organized by Blake, and Ryan. Really thoughtful from design, to routing, to support. This race is one to never miss. Enclosed are some photos and video stills from todays event. Thanks to all the racers, organizers, and volunteers for hustling something great!

The 44 mile route covered Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, and Richmond.

Will Meeker came out and helped shoot with me today. Was really fun to chase these riders together.

Julien, Steve, and Chas making plans moments before the start.

Julian rips, This footage of him coming down from the mormon temple is mind blowing.

The last stretch of the climb to Point Richmond was a pitch.

The way back down was steep, skinny, and littered with riders running up with their bikes.

Chas nearing the finish.

The internet would love to hate on this bar/grip combo if it did not win so many races.

This wiener did the whole 44 miles, sleeping half the time.

Thanks to Ryan and Blake for offering the Bay Area such a buttoned up annual event.

Telling a story in 10 frames comes from shooting 6X7. That is how many moments you get on a roll of 120.

This racer did not get to start due to a car in a hurry to get to jack in the box. He was ok, and can now add couplers to make it a travel bike.

There were some athletes using the same park to train for burning man.

Was fun swapping stories, and looking at clips from along the route.

Chas won 1st Mens, and 1st fixed. Serious achievement on a track bike. Will post the complete results once they are updated. Check their site for more news.

Like every year, the organizers round up some amazing bounty. Chas took home a custom NemPro street fighter frame.
