B.A.S.P #2 SIERRA POINT 2011

Yesterday we all met at Sierra Point for the second Bay Area Super Prestige race of the season. With some rain the day before, the coarse was in great shape for a long day of racing. Enclosed are some images from along the way!

All the pre-season effort with the sponsors, and organization is all worth it when all the racers at at the start, and ready to kill.

Chas has had a really strong race season. This night will be no different. Thanks to Incase for the new headphones!

Thanks to Tom Simpson for setting it all up!

Too good not to post. Smiling all the way down.

Blake knows how to prep for these events. Rainier even brought chanterelle mushrooms he foraged this past week.

Alex entertained the group with crash footage from moments earlier.

Jackie somehow finished with his tube wrapping his canti. At least he still has all his spokes.

With a few hours between races, the team was able to digest, swap stories, then warm up for the Geared A’s night race!

Rainier wathing the B’s last lap before lining up in the A’s.

Gabe got taken out by another racer in the Master A’s, but worked his way back in the mix before the finish.

With some rain the day before, it was a perfect night for racing. Not too muddy, but plenty fast.

With the firing of the canon, they were off, and the field was deep.

Rainier and Chas raced single speeds in the geared A’s.

Up and down

Chas following the white line.

What was once an empty field by the airport, now a playground.

Derek raced a strong race, finishing top 10. Will update with results when they are fully posted.

Rainier had mechanicals, and fought to stay up. We will be dialing bikes this week. IT IS A MUST.

Come train Tuesday AM in Golden Gate park tomorrow AM. Meet at the shop at 7:30am for Coffee, and head out at 8am!
